Doon Convent NS are delighted to have been awarded the Pieta Amber Flag 2020. This is an excellent initiative that aims to change mindsets in relation to mental health and eradicating the stigma that surrounds mental health. The Amber flag recognises the individual efforts of primary and secondary schools, youth reach, third level institutions, community groups, clubs, and companies to create healthy, inclusive environments that support mental well-being.

We at Doon Convent National School believe that it is very important that we increase the awareness of mental health through as many campaigns as possible. We held our very own Wellbeing Week, we engaged in the Green Ribbon Campaign and we raised funds for Pieta House. We felt as a school that all of these initiatives would increase knowledge and understanding within our school community.
