Welcome to Doon Convent N.S. We are a primary school nestled in the old grounds of the Convent of Mercy in Doon, a small village in East Limerick. With the Slieve Felim mountains to the North we enjoy the southerly views of the Galtee mountains.

Our primary school has Infants to 1st boys and girls with all girls from 2nd to 6th class. Numbers fluctuate around 130 as we are a 5 mainstream teacher school with 2 SEN teachers.

Our grounds has two areas in front for 3rd to 6th class with 3 areas to the back of the school for Infants to 2nd class. This means each class has their own play space. We have a poly tunnel with garden and enjoy proximity to the local GAA field.

Our mission statement encompasses the philosophy and values of a Catholic ethos as founded by the Sisters of Mercy when the school was opened in 1976. Open to all denominations, we at Doon Convent N.S. offer an open and transparent system of education involving the parents, pupils, Parents' Council, teachers and Board of Management.

The holistic development of children is our core responsibility. From academic to extra-curricular and tailoring the needs of pupils with SEN formats the foundation blocks to have a good establishment.
